ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (Sept. 25, 2009)- Matt Miller became the National Champion in C Sports Racing, during his first invitation to the 2009 SCCA National Championship Runoffs. This year’s National Championship Runoffs were held at Road America. C- Sport racing was the fastest category in the Olympics of Road Racing.
Matt Miller competes in an Elan Mazda MZR 2.0 C Sports Racer, sponsored by Harry Miller Appliances from Alsip, IL. He qualified on the outside pole, but he took first place from flag to flag for the fifty-two mile race.
This season, Miller’s car was prepped, crewed and engineered by Jody Lift, of Havoc Motorsport. Havoc Motorsport has prepped and won championship races in Pro Rally, Gravel, Road and Ice competitions, which include GT, Formula, Showroom, and Sports Racers for three decades.
Miller was under major pressure by multiple seasoned, veteran drivers this season. Miller has used Hoosier Tires as his choice of competitive tires all season long, setting several lap records and one absolute, outright record at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL. You can view this race HERE.
